RFB 프로토콜은 GUI 시스템(Windows, X-window, Mac)을 원격에서 액세스하고자 하는 목적에서 만들어진, 간단한 프로토콜이다. framebuffer 레벨에서 구현되므로 RFB(Remote FrameBuffer)라는 이름이 붙었다.
